Indicator for determining the bar numbers on the chart or highlighting a given number of bars using the number histogram. In addition, it can automatically display information about the date, time, Open, High, Low and Close on the bar with the desired static or dynamic number and highlight it with a vertical line.
The values Open, High, Low, and Close are shown with rounding to the required decimal place.
The principles of operation are similar to the ID Numbers of bars indicator for MT4 in many ways.
Accordingly, ID Numbers of bars for MT5 provides several ways to select the required bars and combine them: automatically changing the color of the histogram after a given number, limiting the columns of the histogram by the number, and a vertical line for the required bar.
Useful when required:
- Determine the bar number and / or get information on a specific bar. Including by marking it on the chart under a static or dynamic number. For example, for trading analysis, an indicator, an expert advisor, or a script.
- Select the required number of bars visually. For example, with strategies and tactics that take into account the time intervals that can be set by the number of bars.
- Checking or debugging the correct operation of indicators, scripts and expert advisors, if their functions include calculations based on specific bars.
- Quickly see how many bars are on the chart.

Using the indicator is very easy. After trying out its work, you will see this. The main control of the indicator is via its intuitive control panel on the chart.
This control panel is called using the button in the indicator subwindow. To save space on the chart, you can install other indicators in the subwindow of this analyzer.
I will briefly describe only the ways to output lines with information about the desired bar and about the static or dynamic bar numbers:
I. Ways to set the output of lines with information on the desired bar
If necessary, you can add horizontal levels to the histogram via the “Levels”tab of the indicator properties. For example, when you want to use levels to additionally highlight bars with numbers larger and/or smaller than any of them.

II. Select whether to display a static or dynamic bar number
If in the parameter “If you leave the indicator’s dynamic bar number “Yes“, then, as new bars appear on the chart, the vertical line on the bar you selected will move to the left along with it. In the information lines of the indicator, only the number of the bar you need will change (increase). The rest of the data on it, of course, will not change.
If in the parameter “Dynamic numberof the ” select indicator properties “barNo“, then the vertical line will change color and will remain in place of the bar number you selected, without going to the left as new bars appear on the chart. In the indicator lines, the date, time, and price points will gradually change, depending on the bars that pass under the number you set.
If necessary, replace the colors as you see fit.
This indicator does not work in the strategy tester yet, because the strategy tester for MT5 does not yet provide for working with graphical objects used in this indicator.
If the vertical line of the indicator is on the zero bar, then only the bar number, its date, opening time, and Open price are displayed in the indicator table.
