Magic Grid is a non-predictor Expert Advisor using a grid strategy. The strategy is based on the automatic reopening of profitable orders placed with a certain step from the very beginning of the adviser’s work. The robot can trade on any timeframe, on any currency pair, on several currency pairs, on any number of characters. It does not interfere with either manual trading or trading of other advisors. It works only with its own orders and provides all the necessary information about them as needed.

The Magic Grid information panel, together with a system of various alerts, provides exceptional control over the entire trade of the adviser. Using the panel itself, you can always check the declared number of orders in relation to their actual market number. Depending on the situation, the adviser issues various reports on any important changes in its work or on errors that have occurred. For example, alerts are issued about the number of restored orders, if any of them were triggered at the time when the terminal was closed, about exceeding the maximum allowed number of orders, that a pending order was not placed because the price was too close, etc.

Many alerts also give advice on how to proceed in this or that case.

The Adviser is very careful about the resources it consumes and performs all its recalculations only in the following cases:

  • after restarting the Expert Advisor
  • after changing the adviser settings
  • after changing the financial instrument
  • after changing the timeframe
  • after closing any order or the appearance of a new one

Switching between timeframes can also be used as a forced recalculation, if there are any doubts about the work of the adviser or you need to speed up some process. For example, if at the very beginning one of the pending orders is not placed because the price is too close.

At first glance, it seems that there are too many settings, but in fact they are quite simple and it is their number that allows you to configure the network as flexibly as a trader needs.

  • Buy First – the initial price for purchases (selected by the trader and can be any)
  • Sell First – the initial price for sales (chosen by the trader and can be any)
  • Quantity BuyUP from Buy First – the number of Buy orders up from the initial price (may be zero)
  • Quantity BuyDOWN from Buy First – the number of Buy orders down from the initial price (may be zero)
  • Quantity SellUP from Sell First – the number of Sell orders up from the initial price (may be zero)
  • Quantity SellDOWN from Sell First – the number of Sell orders down from the initial price (may be zero)
  • Step – the grid step between orders of the same type (calculated in points of the selected pair)
  • Take profit – take profit for each order of the Expert Advisor (may be zero)
  • Stop loss – stop loss for each order of the Expert Advisor (may be zero)
  • Lot – the value of the lot for each order of the Adviser
  • Magic number – any group of digits for the technical separation of the Adviser’s orders from all others (it is important to change when using the adviser on several currency pairs at once)
  • Language – switching the language of the Adviser (English and Russian are currently supported)
  • Expert’s comment – user comment for each order of the Expert Advisor
  • Dashboard — displaying an information panel that controls the number of orders of the Expert Advisor on the market
  • Transparency of the dashboard – transparency of the Dashboard (it is better to disable it if “graph on top” is set in the chart settings)
  • Debugging — required only for a more detailed error report in the work of the Expert Advisor, when necessary

When testing the Expert Advisor in the strategy tester, you should take into account the limit on the maximum number of orders from the selected broker. If it is exceeded, the adviser will not place any orders!

All missed ticks only reduce the effectiveness of the Expert Advisor, because its work is based on volatility, and the lower it is, the less likely it is to fix a possible profit.
