Moving Average Close is a tool that closes an open trade when the closing price of the current bar crosses the specified moving average above for SELL or below for BUY.
Moving Average Close is designed to manage trades.
- Moving Average Period: The period of the moving average for calculations.
- Moving Average Timeframe: Predefined timeframes of the chart.
- Moving Average Method: A predefined method for smoothing the moving average.
- Screenshot On Close: Save a screenshot of the current chart when closing a trade
- Screenshot File Name Prefix: The prefix for screenshots. Screenshots are saved to the ile folder.
- If a buy trade was opened while the price was above the moving average, the EA will close the trade at the opening of the candle after the bar closed below the moving average
- If a buy trade was opened while the price was below the moving average, the EA will close the trade only after the bar closes above the moving average and the subsequent candle closes below the moving average.
- If a sell trade was opened while the price was below the moving average, the EA will close the trade at the opening of the candle after the bar closed above the moving average
- If a sell trade was opened while the price was above the moving average, the EA will close the trade only after the bar closes below the moving average and the subsequent candle closes below the moving average.
- The period of the moving average can be changed. Open the parameters tab in the properties window. Double-click on the tab next to the Moving Average Period and enter the desired period.
- The timeframe of the moving average can be changed. Select from the drop-down menu in the options tab in the properties window. Double-click on the tab next to the Moving Average Timeframe, and select Current, 1M, 5M, 15M, 30M, 1 Hour, 4 Hours, 1 Day, 1 Week, 1 Month. Keep in mind that trades will be managed according to the moving average based on the timeframe specified in the settings, regardless of the displayed timeframe of the chart. When the timeframe is set to the current one and the chart period changes to another, the trades will be managed according to the moving average on the displayed timeframe, which will affect the closing of the trade.
- The moving average method can be changed. Select from the drop-down menu in the options tab in the properties window. Double-click on the tab next to the Moving Average Method and select: Simple, Exponential, Smoothed, or Linear weighted
- The Expert Advisor is equipped with a function of taking screenshots when closing a trade. Select from the drop-down menu in the options tab in the properties window. Double-click on the tab next to Screenshot on close and select true (enable screenshots) or false (disable screenshots)
- Screenshots are saved in the /MQL4/Files/ScreenShots folder.
- Path for screenshots: File -> Open data directory – > > MQL4 folder – > > > Files – > > > ScreenShots-in the ScreenShots folder, open the subfolders with the currency pair and the timeframe of the closed transaction. By default, the prefix for the name of screenshots is FXPROPHET_MA_.
- You can change the default prefix for the screenshot name. Select from the drop-down menu in the options tab in the properties window. Double-click on the tab next to Screenshot File Name Prefix and enter the desired prefix for the file name name.
