Smart Grid MT5 automatically recognizes any symbol, period and scale of the chart and marks it accordingly, it is possible to mark the chart by trading sessions. The grid consists of two main types of lines.
They have two visualization methods:
Standard-lines are divided into three types, separating:
Trading Session-lines are divided into groups (ten in total). Each group has two lines: the first one is responsible for opening the trading session, the second one is responsible for closing.
They are divided into two types that separate:
The amount of separation depends on the period and scale of the chart.
- 5 minutes:
- A small time period divides the chart into segments of four hours, so any candle on the four-hour chart corresponds to a certain segment on the five-minute chart;
- The average time period divides the chart by day;
- A large time period divides the chart by weeks.
- 1 hour:
- There is no small time period;
- The average time period divides the chart by day;
- A large time period divides the chart by weeks. Thanks to this division, the hourly chart shows the end of the last week and the beginning of the next week at a glance, which makes it easy to determine the day of the week in any part of the chart.
- 4 hours:
- There is no small time period;
- The average time period divides the chart by week;
- A large time period divides the chart by month.

The grid supports all time periods, including non-standard ones.
- Method of visualization – selection of the visualization method;
- ‘Trading Session’ method will work during this period and less – added in order to deliberate ban visualization method for high temporal periods, i.e. if you choose this method and you change the time period to a larger or compression, then the visualization is made by “Standard”. It is also worth considering that compressed charts are regarded by the grid as having a higher timeframe, for example, compressed M15 is H1, M5 is M30, etc.;
- The general color of the grid – allows you to set the color of the entire grid. You can change the color of a particular type of line if the parameter is set to NONE;
- Set hotkey for these settings (a, B, c, …, or 0, 1, 2, …) – create a “hotkey” for the current setting. It makes it much easier to change the grid representation between the “Standard” and “Trading Session” methods or between their variations;
- I will use the time in GMT (auto switch to the local time) – shift the set time for the trading session lines relative to GMT.
If you try to change the parameters of a previously attached “indicator” with a non-empty “hotkey” value, the changes may not occur. To make them happen, you need to click on the corresponding “hotkey”.
The appropriate key can be from ” A ” to ” Z “or from “0” to “9”, except for” R ” (Refresh).
The” hot keys “of the indicator do not conflict with the combination of” hot keys ” of the terminal.
“Hot keys” work on any terminal charts with an attached “indicator” and a non-empty “hot key” value.
To disable the use of “Hot keys”, you must clear this input field. The shutdown will only occur on the current chart.
The “Trading Session” method does not take into account public holidays, so during these periods, the lines may be shifted, not displayed, or displayed incorrectly.
In test mode, tooltips are not displayed: when you hover the mouse over a line, its original name is displayed instead of the tooltip.
To improve usability, horizontal lines do not share a specific range (which leads to excessive compression/stretching of these lines between each other during a period of high/low volatility), but a dynamically selected one that takes into account a number of factors. Also, the price range will always be smoothed and look like – 10, 20, 50, 100, 200, 500, 1000 items, etc.
