The indicator is intended for traders who trade in volatility (options) or as an addition to another indicator that sets the direction of the transaction.
The standard deviation measures market volatility.
The dynamics of the market consists in a consistent alternation of periods of rest and bursts of activity, so the approach to this indicator is simple:
- If the indicator value is too low, that is, the market is completely at rest, then it makes sense to expect an early surge in activity;
- On the contrary, if the indicator is extremely large, it means that this activity is likely to decline soon.
This improvement of the indicator allows you to determine when it is too small and when the indicator is extremely large.
The kTF parameter is used to set the number of bars in the highest period when swAutoPeriod=false.
When swAutoPeriod=true, kTF is set automatically
- For periods less than or equal to two hours, the highest period is a day.
- For periods less than or equal to 12 hours – 5 days.
- For periods less than or equal to a week – month.
- For other periods – 12 months.
The parameters aEachMax and aEachMin for what maximum period will be the intersection of the level of highs and lows in the period from StartData to EndData.
