YnP Volatility Index MT5

0.00

The indicator draws a volatility histogram for the selected instrument. The index can be taken as a daily, hourly or monthly one – you can count on any timeframe. Calculating volatility will help you determine the state of the market, predict the width of price fluctuations in the coming days, set stop-losses at a safe distance, limit entries by volatility. It is most useful for trading robots that do not work on all historical periods and are vulnerable to large/small volatility.

It is suitable for both FOREX and stock exchange and FORTS trading. This version is designed for MetaTrader 5. The version for MetaTrader 4 can be found here.

The indicator belongs to the YnP series of high-quality software products .

[spoiler title=”Read More…”]

  • Index Timeframe – the timeframe of the index. The timeframe determines which index you want to see – hourly, daily, weekly, etc. The recommended value is H1 or more. The timeframe of the index must be equal to or greater than the timeframe of the current chart.
  • Index Period – the calculation period. A period in the bars of history. For this period, the volatility is calculated. With a longer calculation period, the index is less dependent on single news fluctuations. Recommended values are from 5 to 30 bars.
  • Index History (bars) – the maximum period of history for displaying the index, an optimization parameter that does not affect the calculation. Its reduction speeds up the work of the indicator.
  • Include last bar (unfinished) – whether to include the last, not yet completed bar in the calculation of volatility. This setting is disabled by default.
  • Show Moving Average – whether to show the moving average for the indicator.
  • MA Period (bars) – the averaging period (in bars).
  • MA Mode – The Moving Average mode. All the main types of moving average are available – Simple MA, Exponential MA, Lightweight MA, Smoothed MA.
