The index determines the state of the tendency/flat in the market by the Bollinger bands.

The Bollinger bands diverge in strong market movements and converge in a calm market. this property uses the index. once the market is calm and the space between the Bollinger bands is less than a certain worth, the indicator reveals a flat (gray histogram by default). when the market moves and the Bollinger Bands diverge greater than this worth, the indicator determines the path of motion and shows an upward fashion (green histogram) or a down trend (red histogram).

so as to make the indicator independent of the timeframe, the indicator does not use the absolute distance between the bands, but the relative parameter “Flat factor”.

The indicator is a complete analog of the “BB Trend Flat” indicator for MetaTrader 4

• BB Period – the period of the Bollinger bands.
• BB Deviation – divergence of the Bollinger bands.
• Flat factor-a parameter that determines the size of the flat. The larger the parameter, the larger the flat area shown by the indicator.
