A linear indicator of the strength (correlation) of currencies with the ability to filter by smoothing the values. Shows the current strength of the 8 major currencies for the selected calculation period, as well as historical values without redrawing. It is made on the basis of its own algorithm. It is based on the specified (base) currency pair (to choose from), which does not necessarily coincide with the current currency pair of the chart. The result depends on the selected timeframe of the chart on which the indicator is installed, as well as the base currency pair. It works with any extended names of standard currency pairs (you need to set the appropriate value in the parameters).
Alternative options for calculating the strength of currencies: Currency Power Meter Linear, Currency power correlation MACD, Relative Pairs Correlation
[spoiler title=”Read More…”]
- IPeriod – the number of bars for analyzing the strength of currencies.
- HistoryBars – the number of calculated bars on the history. This parameter affects the execution time on the first run. It is also necessary to reduce the required historical data when limiting the length of the broker’s history.
- SmoothingPeriod – period of smoothing the data (to disable anti-aliasing, set the value of this parameter = 1).
- SmoothingMethod – a method for smoothing data.
- ShowPairLabels-enables / disables the display of currency labels in the left part of the indicator window.
- LabelsFontSize – the font size of the currency labels.
- ShowCrossArrows-enables / disables the display of arrows crossing the currency strength lines for the current currency pair on the price chart
- UseAbsoluteValues-enable / disable the mode of using absolute (true) or “step” (false) values when calculating the currency strength
- ArrowShift-up/down offset from the price for the intersection arrows
- ArrowUpColor – color of the up-crossing arrow
- ArrowDnColor – color of the down-crossing arrow
- ArrowUpCode – code of the character (Wingdings font) of the arrow crossing up
- ArrowDnCode – code of the character (Wingdings font) of the down arrow intersection
- Line Strength EUR – enable/disable the display of the lines of force
- Line Strength GBP – enable/disable the display of the lines of force
- Strength Line AUD – enable/disable the display of the lines of force
- Line Strength NZD – enable/disable the display of the lines of force
- Strength Line USD-enable / disable the display of the strength line
- Strength Line CAD – enable/disable the display of the lines of force
- Line Strength CHF – enable/disable the display of the lines of force
- Strength Line JPY – enable/disable the display of the lines of force
- UseBase – the base currency for the calculation
- PairPreffix – an additional string to the names of currency pairs. For example, when naming the currency ” EURUSD.e” = “.e”
- ShowWarningComments-enable / disable comments about errors during operation, for example, about the lack of quotes for a currency pair or the required length of the history for a currency pair from the broker.
- ShowHolesCount-enables / disables displaying information about the presence of “holes” in quotes in the comments
